Glacier in Val de Travers

We all had fun in Val de Travers; we went to a hole which was a glacier. We all climbed down into a cave at the bottom of the hole, the cave was all ice and the ice was 15 meters thick. On either side of the ice there was a 15 meters drop! Ms. Fish made a few avalanches and made us all cold, and Mr. Robinson is a professional at this, so we learned a lot!

  1. kia Ora,

We are going into winter here in New Zealand and it is nearly our ski season. We thought the snow would be all melted in the northern hemisphere. Did you need any special footwear to get traction on the ice?
We wish we were allow to do cool things like going into caves??

  2. We needed to wear shoes with a good grip so we wouldn't slip on the ice. I never thought there is snow New Zealand, here it is sunny and cloudless and is 27°C. Are the ski slopes far from your school? Do you have a vacation so you can skiing, we had it in February.
